Gonçalo Pina was born in Almada in 1997. After studying History at the NOVA University Lisbon, he graduated in Film from the Lisbon Theatre and Film School, in the branch of editing. He is currently studying for a master's degree in communication sciences, specializing in Cinema and Television, at the NOVA University Lisbon. He is a trainer, in the area of directing, for the Cineclube project of Rugas cultural association, which helps young people get in touch with the art of film. His first film, produced in a school context, À TARDE, SOB O SOL (Afternoon Sun, 2020), premiered at IndieLisboa. It was shown at various festivals across the country and won the award for Best Portuguese School Short Film at Queer Porto. It has been shown at festivals in Europe, South America and North America. It has video-on-demand distribution in the UK and Taiwan. He is currently preparing to shoot his second short film, a docufiction entitled INFINITY RIVER. In 2023, he founded BRAVADO FILMES.
